Hindu Mission Hospital Founder Felicitated

The Hindu Mission Hospital and Valluvar Gurukulam felicitated D K Srinivasan, founder of Hindu Mission Hospital and various other non-profit organisations, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, for his service to the community.
S Gurumurthy, eminent columnist, economist and auditor said, “The reason we are here is because we want to let everyone know that the only way more people dedicated to community service can be created, is if we appreciate the service to society that people like DKS have done.”
The felicitation ceremony was attended by several prominent persons including N Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice Chairman, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Padma Shri awardee Shanti Ranganathan, prominent carnatic artiste Balamuralikrishna and Srinivasan K Swamy to mention a few.
S K Swamy told the story of how the small clinic, the brainchild of DKS, had grown into the giant it is now. “Every penny that came to us he put into expanding the HMH. He even got students all over India to contribute 1 paise per brick for the new building,” he pointed out. The felicitation function was in line with the sentiments expressed by Gurumurthy with which he concluded his tribute.
