LUCKNOW: Tension gripped Hanskheda village on Friday morning as body parts of at least five cows were discovered in a mango orchard next to a government basic school.
Angry villagers said such incidents have been taking place frequently in the Para area but the administration and police did not act despite being aware that tension in the area was brewing.
Later villagers blocked the main road opposite Para police station and burned effigies of SP leaders. Burned tyres were put on the main road to block bypass roads often taken by long-distance motorists. Action on people responsible within 24 hours has been assured by DM and SSP, who reached the spot. However, tension is palpable in the village.
