The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will be organising a gow poojan in
Ahmedabad and will be attended by Parishad leaders like Pravin Togadia
and Kaushik Mehta.
About 1,500 devotees will be performing the puja on the occasion of Gopa-ashtami at Usmanpura on Sunday morning. The event will also see several children participating in a drawing competition, in which cow will be dominant theme.
A Radha-Krishna dress competition for children is also being organised on the occasion, an official release from the organisation stated.
VHP will also provide suggestions to devotees on "how to serve the cow in their respective neighbourhoods". Products sourced from the cow, like ghee, milk, curd, cow's urine will also be displayed and put on sale, it added.
